Shirley holds a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from Northcentral University, with a specialty in Medical Family Therapy. She also holds a certification in Thanatology (CT®) from the Association for Death Education and Counseling. Lastly, she is a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Therapy (NLP).
Shirley believes that even if things are not okay, we can be. This is also her definition of incurable optimism. She believes that we can all be best version of ourselves, under any circumstances. Therefore, she is always looking at your preferred future as the destination of your therapeutic journey. Shirley sees all her clients as superheroes, no less. However, every superhero has a sidekick to bring their strengths into the light – and she is honored to be yours.
Shirley is mostly interested in working with individuals, couples, and families managing grief, be it following the death of a loved one, or non-death losses. She holds a special place in her heart for families who cope with prenatal loss. She also specializes in suicide prevention, and in working with families who manage a family members suicide ideation or who lost someone to suicide.
Shirley is an active member of the Georgia Association for Marriage and Family Therapy board.
She is able to provide services in Hebrew we well as in English, online or in person.
